Happiness Within, 2018

Happiness Within, 2018

Two solo exhibitions, one Artist in Residence, and my first reality TV competition... 2018 felt pleasantly still and intimate.

Now in my 7th year as a full-time independent artist, I've learned to thoroughly prepare myself for tasks ahead.

In 2018, such opportunities included a brand-cohesive exhibition at Google HQ,

(Martin Hsu 'A Good Life' Google Exhibition, Googleplex, CA)

a deeply personal solo feature Ningyo at Modern Eden Gallery,

(Ningyo by Martin Hsu, Modern Eden Gallery. SF, 2018)

a month-long artist appearance at Disney's WonderGround Gallery,

(Martin Hsu Artist in Residence 2018, WonderGround Gallery, CA)

and an hour-long live competition to create beautiful art on TV.

(Martin Hsu on Doodle Wars, Reality TV Competition, Bluprint)

Now more than ever, I see wonder in nature...

(New Zealand, 2018)

find kinship with animals,

(Kindred Spirits, private commission, 2018)

and feel at peace with being a naturalist and traditionalist

making art in the contemporary world.

So as always, thank you for joining me on this creative and spiritual exploration.

Happy 2018, Hello 2019.

With light,
Martin

Happy New Year from Martin Hsu

Thank you to all the art collectors, gallery curators, friends of the arts, loved ones for supporting my career as an independent artist.

Because of you, I'm able to do what I love.

Happy 2018.

Warmest regards,
Martin
